Overview#

Application notes describes testing and recommendations on where and how to mount the sensor in products, and potential influence from the environment.

Integration guide#

For integration of the sensor into products, refer to the Integration Guide for recommendations. This guide includes information about the impact of the mechanical integration on the X4F103 sensor in the proximity of other electronic components. The integrated PCB antenna on the sensor module is designed to be robust but it can be affected by materials in front of and around it. The guide also includes guidelines for integration in proximity to Wi-Fi antennas/routers.

Material attenuation#

The material attenuation application note looks at the signal attenuation of X4F103 through different materials. The amount of the EM energy propagating through a material will affect how well the sensor can detect movements on the other side of that material.

Outdoor robustness#

The NOVELDA Proximity Outdoor algorithm has been tuned to work in various outdoor environments by avoiding detection of common outdoor motions such as rain and small animals. The Outdoor Robustness application note summarizes the testing of the Proximity Outdoor algorithm.
