Introduction#

his document describes the Novelda X4F103 Shield. The X4F103 Shield is designed to work with the Nordic nRF52840DK development kit, but will electrically fit all development kits following the Arduino pin-out standard. The X4F103 Shield allows the user to evaluate the performance of the Novelda X4F103 sensor and to develop own projects using the Novelda X4 Proximity and Occupancy sensor products.

Warning

The maximum supply voltage of the X4F103 is 3.6 V. Higher voltages may lead to permanent device damage.

Overview#

The picture below shows the NOVELDA X4F103 Shield with the X4F103 sensor mounted in the center of the shield. The dimensions of the board is also given in the figure.

X4F103 Shield with dimensions#

  • For power/current measurements:
    • Measure the voltage over R1

    • Remove R1 to measure current over VIN and VDD (P1).

  • For debugging and signal analysis, use the accessible debug pin holes located at the bottom of the shield, giving access to all of the signal channels.

  • Unlabeled pins are unconnected
